Synthux Simple Touch / Touch 2

A touch-controlled instrument whose sound and control behaviour depend on the selected firmware and board revision.

Revision-sensitive touch instrument kit · Sources reviewed 11 September 2026

CAIBI assessment

Interesting instrument code and tactile hardware, but settle the board generation and firmware before buying. Current Touch 2 kit availability and the older Simple Touch examples are separate questions.

Cost and commitment

The current full-kit listing was out of stock at review. Lower “from” prices may refer to PCB-only variants. No available UK/US basket or complete delivered total is verified.

Lead and build time

Lead time is unknown while the relevant kit is unavailable. Assembly and firmware time are not measured.

Parts and fabrication

  • Exact Simple Touch or Touch 2 board matched to the chosen program
  • Daisy Seed where required; verify whether the selected kit includes it
  • Revision-specific faceplate, controls and fixings
  • Documented power/data cable and suitable audio monitoring connections

The current Touch 2 full-kit listing includes swappable faceplates and hardware. The older instrument repository is not proof of Touch 2 compatibility. The linked assembly destination could not be retrieved during review, so the complete assembly sequence remains unverified.

The linked source BOM and files control exact quantities, dimensions and revision. This summary is not a replacement fabrication file.

Assembly and test route

Follow the creator’s detailed instructions at each stage. The sequence below identifies the decisions and checks that connect them.

  1. Identify the exact board generation and a firmware build explicitly supported by it. Do not treat Simple Touch and Touch 2 as interchangeable.
  2. Confirm full-kit contents and current availability before committing to separate components.
  3. Retrieve the manufacturer’s matching assembly guide and reconcile its parts list with the kit. If unavailable, resolve that gap with the manufacturer before assembly.
  4. Follow the supported firmware installation route and connect audio within the documented input range; do not feed unattenuated Eurorack levels.
  5. Test touch pads, controls and audio behaviour with the chosen firmware, recording any mapping or noise issues.

Where AI helps

AI can explain the published instrument code and propose control changes. It cannot establish undocumented revision compatibility or replace missing assembly instructions.

UK and US purchasing

These are specific sourcing routes, not a verified complete basket. Check exact variants, stock, shipping destination, tax and delivery before purchasing.
